The Nabdam legislator, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane has called on all aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC)  constituency executive candidates to tolerate one another especially by accepting the results declared by the Electoral Commission (EC) Officials.

Dr. Nawaane who spoke to A1 Radio in an exclusive interview at the voting grounds of Nangode in the Nabdam district of the Upper East Region, pointed that his constituency has not experienced any form of problems  unlike some other places. He was very confident that Nabdam will continue with such example for others to emulate.

“In the Nabdam Constituency, we have not had any problem right from the beginning; their might little misunderstanding but always like that, I think is part of the democratic process. For today, we have about 378 delegates from the branches and some more, because of formal government appointees in the NDC, the MP and constituency executives we are approaching 400 delegates to elect our constituency executives”.

The Nabdam legislator also stressed that, as the Member of Parliament representing the people of Nabdam, it is his duty to ensure that there is existing peaceful co-existence within the party right from the party grass root. He believes, as a political father, it is prudent he avoids taking sides in grass root election.

“As a grass root election, delegates know those standing for various positions more than I do, because they are always with each other, they meet at market, they themselves at funerals and some other various places. So they know themselves very well more than I do. This is not the time to campaign for any of them”.

The Member of Parliament acknowledged that, it is only in the game of politic that there is nothing like a draw result as is the case of football and other games where we have win, draw and lose.

He made a vow to work with anyone chosen by delegates through their votes.

“I am ready to work with anyone that comes, because the strength of whatever election lies on the delegates, so when the delegates vote anybody in, am ready to work with that person. I know that, the old executives did very well, the current seat am occupying as the current MP fall to the NPP during the last election. So it took the hard work of the previous executives and me as a tool, to get back the seat”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nawaane has predicted to see some changes in the constituency leadership. His prediction was based on his observations during the process.
