Deputy Attorney General and Member of Parliament for Tempane Constituency in the Upper East Region,Joseph Dindiok Kpemka has come under serious criticisms for publicly ‘flouting’ a directive on Covid19.
The Minister has been captured in a video purported to be a meeting he recently held with his constituents numbering more than 25 people with no social distancing observed.
This is in contravention to a ban placed on public gatherings by President Nana Akufo Addo.
The President gave that instruction as part of measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country and warned that anyone found culpable will be punished accordingly.
And you will recall that a Pastor and some of his followers were recently arrested and charged for organizing a church service after the directive was given by Nana Akufo Addo.
It is in this vain that Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Abraham Lambon in a Facebook page displaying some pictures and a video of the Minister, accused him of insubordination against the President.
“Our MP and Deputy Attorney General didn’t just violate the ban on social gatherings but threw the preventive measures to the dogs. Was Nana Addo’s ban on social gatherings/political activities actually a deception? I guess the answer is in the affirmative”he said.
He further accused the Minister of deliberately overlooking the precautionary measures proposed by health authorities in the country.
“There was no evidence of preventive measures taken into consideration,no social distancing,no wearing of nose mask ,no Veronica buckets sighted for hand washing and no hand sanitizers were seen or used.Instances such as this ,go to confirm the lifting of the partial lockdown wasn’t just to take the so called robust economy from ICU but to pave way for the tripartite body to manipulate the 2020 election in their favor” he stated.
Mr. Lambon also fingered the Electoral Commission of Ghana of busily putting itself together to waste the tax payers money on a new voters register while?the National Identification Authority was also seriously massing up to continue with the Ghana Card registration. He said the NPP has commenced it’s campaign rail for votes at the expense of the citizenry.
He therefore called on the constituents of Tempane to practice all the precautionary measures and not allow anyone to exchange their precious lives for votes.
