The only policy implemented by former President John Mahama’s administration that cannot be tampered with by the Nana Akufo-Addo’s led administration is,the price liberalization of petroleum products. And any attempts to alter or scrub it will collapse the petroleum sector.

This is according to former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority(NPA) Moses Asaga.

He explained in an interview on A1 Radio with Samuel Mbura that, the price liberalization in the petroleum sector was a major initiative he started that has given life to the NPA and contributed hugely to economic growth.

Mr.Asaga indicated that no government in the history of Ghana could introduce that policy until he [Moses Asaga] came into office as CEO of NPA.

He was touting his achievements and contributions towards developments in the country but however cautioned against the penchant of successive governments for discontinuing fruitful policies that can cause monumental developments in the country.

“The biggest thing I’ve done for Ghana Which no government will ever abandon that is the Price liberalization of petroleum products in Ghana . No government could introduce the liberalization of fuel prices until Moses Asaga was in the seat of NPA and was able to convince government to say we are going to introduce liberalization of fuel prices which means,if fuel prices go up in the international market, it will accordingly feed into our retail sector , if it goes down dramatically, it must feed into our retail sector. Even when Nana Akufo-Addo our president came into government, that is the only NDC project he could not sacrifice”he said.
