An Economist, Dr. Worlanyo Mensah has stated that Former President John Mahama has the right to complain about Ghana’s current economic growth rate; however, he is guilty of contributing to the problem.

Mr. Mahama, who is the Flagbearer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Monday, 26 October 2020, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, while engaging professionals ahead of the December 7 polls, indicated that Ghana’s economy at the moment is going through a crisis.

He accused President Akufo Addo of badly managing the economy; a situation that in his view has resulted in Ghana being back to Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) status.

But speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East, Dr. Worlanyo said the two main political parties, being NDC and NPP, are the same in terms of their respective abilities to manage the country’s economy.

“They are all part of the problem. He {Former President Mahama} just left power not up to 4 years; so he is also part of the problem. He has the right to complain but he is also part of the problem.” Dr. Worlanyo noted.
