Madam Bolco, during her interview with A1 Radio

A Former National First Vice Chairperson of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Juliet Hilda Salifu (alias Madam Bolco), has stated that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo is not corrupt.

Contrary to a strong opinion being held by the opposition community that President Akufo- Addo is corrupt and not committed to fighting corruption in his government, Madam Bolco who is described by many as a Founding Member of the NDC, observed that the current president is not corrupt but some of his followers are those that are corrupt.

She made these comments in an exclusive interview on A1 Radio’s Day Beak Upper East program.

“Nana is not corrupt, the followers who later-on followed him without a pesewa, they became corrupt; and they are corrupt in government now.” She stated.

When asked to name the most corrupt leader between President Akufo Addo and Former President John Dramani Mahama, Madam Bolco failed to give a direct answer but simply said “John mahama is my son; and Akufo Addo is just like our child”; recounting her time with the latter’s father when he was working at the supreme court years ago.

According to Madam Bolco, Nana Akufo Addo in his first term in office as president has performed satisfactorily; but for the questionable character of some ministers under his administration whose names she failed mention.

“His {President Akufo Addo’s} performance is okay just that he has got wrong followers; some of his ministers are bad. I don’t have to mention their names to you. They are grabbing; they are just grabbing. Nana is doing well but his followers are bad.” She stressed.

Touching on the prospects of both President Akufo Addo and Former President John Mahama, who are both presidential candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and NDC respectively in the impending polls, Madam Bolco noted that she has no objection to either of them being re-elected to lead the country.
