Upper East MPs among the best in the country – Minority whip

Members of parliament from the Upper East region have been described as one the best MPs the country yearns for to drive its development.

Ahmed Ibrahim, 1st minority whip in parliament who showered the praises on the 15 MPs from the region stated that the MPs have always put before parliament brilliant submissions geared towards national development.

He urged the regional minister to create the bi-partisan platform with the regional house of chiefs to discuss take collective decisions about how to develop the region this will ensure that there is better lobbying for development.

Mr. Ibrahim who is the MP for Banda made this revelation when he joined the parliamentary select committee on Local Government and Rural Development to pay a courtesy call on the Upper East regional minister.

Albert Akuka Alalzuga MP for the Garu constituency in the Upper East region on behalf of his colleague MPs in the region pledged to work with the regional minister to ensure the progress of the region.

He also called on the Upper East regional minister to involve the members of parliament when planning for the development of the region as this ensures that all hands are on deck to work collectively to bring development to the region.

Mr. Stephen Yakubu on his part said, what was most important is the development of the region and not the political affiliation of each other.

He said his focus is on the development of the region as such he will work closely with the MPs from the region to ensure that his vision for the region is realized.
