The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC, Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor has hinted that the 2024 general elections will not be a ‘child’s play’.

According to the General Secretary hopeful, the governing New Patriotic Party NPP (NPP) has mismanaged the country’s economy and is at the verge of exiting office yet the president insists he will hand over power to an NPP government come January, 2025.

Speaking to Mark Smith on the Daybreak Upper East show on A1 Radio, Dr. Otokunor indicated that the NDC is lacing its boots firmly to face the opposition at the 2024 general election despite the NPP’s agenda of breaking the eight.

He said, “let it not be misconstrued that 2024 will be child’s play. It is not going to be child’s play to anyone. The last kick of a dying horse is the most dangerous one. The NPP knows they are losing the elections and they are not going to let it go smoothly.”

“The president has said that he’s going to hand over to an NPP government. If a blind man says he will throw a stone at you, you should know that his leg is on a stone. They know they are on their way out but the last kicks of a dying horse, they will do everything.”

He accused the Nana Addo – Bawumia government of inflicting untold hardship and misery on the ordinary Ghanaian citizen.

Dr. Otokunor was in the Upper East Region to meet with party delegates and solicit for support on his bid to become the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress.
