Former constituency secretary for NDC in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region, Solomon TTB Zinekena, has been successfully vetted and cleared to contest the parliamentary primaries in the area.

Mr. Zinekena, who appears to be the youngest among his competitors, tabled youth inclusiveness, unearthing talents, and improving the educational sector as key pillars to tackle if given the nod to lead the party at the parliamentary level in the area.

Speaking to the media during the vetting process at the party office in Zuarungu on Wednesday, May 5, 2023, he indicated that the time for the youth to get involved in decision-making was now.

He said, “We need to begin giving the youth the opportunity to exhibit their expertise in development plans as well. There are a lot of things that we can achieve collectively when the youth lead. I think I have what it takes—the connections, being vocal on issues, and being able to bring back the development initiatives that have for some time now failed to realise their potential in the district. Talensi is an area full of potential, and we need to have an enlightened mind to achieve and bring together policies.”

Mr. Zinekena, who’s contesting alongside seven other aspirants in the constituency, believes that he has the capabilities to lead; therefore, the delegates should give him the chance.
