Bolgatanga: Man murdered by two unidentified men.

A 55-year-old man has died in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region after he was attacked by two unidentified men on Thursday night.

The deceased whose name the Police in Bolgatanga gave only as Ali came from the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region to visit his friend called Osman Tijani.

The deceased was reported to have arrived in Bolgatanga on Thursday at about 1600 hours and was attacked and killed at around 2100 hours on that same day.

According to the Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Samuel Punopyin Tibil, the deceased’s friend reported the matter to the police at about 2230 hours on that day.

According to the Police the two men who were unarmed subjected the deceased to severe beatings, but his friend managed to escape to lodge the complaint to Police.

The commander said when the police arrived at the scene following the complainant they found the 55 year-old man dead.

Supt. Tibil said the Police found stabbed wounds on the left chest of the deceased and the body has now been deposited at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
