Astute private legal practitioner and Upper East regional chair of the New Partriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Anthony Namoo, has commended the region’s favourite radio station, A1 Radio, for its LitBolgaNow campaign.

A1 radio late last year embarked on a campaign using its airwaves to draw the attention of appropriate authorities in the region to the poor state of lighting and traffic systems in major locations within the Bolgatanga Municipality.

The campaign which buzzed and trended on various social media platforms also sought to create the awareness of the general public on the dangers that come with the darkness that took over principal streets of the Assembly.

Through the campaign, audience of the station have been urged to stay safe while moving through the Municipality especially at night and observe traffic regulations.

Speaking on the sideline after an engagement with Host Samuel Mbura on Day Break Upper East on A1 Radio, Mr. Namoo recognized the efforts of the station in championing calls to have street and traffic lights in the Bolgatanga Municipality fixed.  He noted that the campaign was a good cause that needed the support of all.

“We once again commend you ( A1 Radio) for your crusade on the traffic and street lights. We commend you highly for bringing us to this.

“We are all supportive of your efforts and i am sure sooner than later it will be fixed”. He added.

When asked if the NPP government deserved a pat on the back from indigenes of the region as a show of appreciation for development, the legal practitioner responded in the affirmative. He was however quick to add that there is more in the sleeves of government for the people of the Upper East Region.

“yes, yes, we have to pat the government at the back. But of course there is more to be done. Already there free shs and more other policies will be rolled out soon”.
